President Yoweri Museveni has instructed the Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura to investigate circumstances under which the Kamuswaga of Kooki, His Royal Highness Apollo Sansa Kabumbuli II was manhandled and flogged by the Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi’s guards.
The Kooki Kingdom Prime Minister Idd Ahmed Kiwanuka revealed to the Investigator that President sent an emissary to Kamuswaga on Saturday morning as he prepared to travel to Germany for further treatment.
The Kamuswaga left for Germany for specialized treatment aboard Emirates Airline at 15hrs on Saturday. Speaking just before they boarded off to Germany, Kiwanuka said; “We are saddened that the Kamuswaga was humiliated and tortured to such an extent. But we express our gratitude to President Museveni who sent his empathy message.”
Kiwanuka said Kayihura had promised to have all the guards involved in the inhumane treatment of the Kamuswaga recalled and disciplined. “As we travel to Germany for more specialized treatment, we call for calm among the Kooki and pray that the tormentors are brought to justice,” said Kiwanuka.
He said they had decided as a kingdom to fly the Kamuswaga out to Germany for specialized treatment due to what they described as excessive pain he is going through. He showed the X-ray films indicating damages to the chest and head.”
Meanwhile the Kooki subjects are grieving for 10 days following the torture of their king. The information Minister, Stanley Ndawula said the apologetic messages from President Museveni and the IGP were welcome though they demand a public apology.
“The humiliation and torture subjected to the Kamuswaga was public not private. We welcome the apologies so far from IGP and President Museveni as we wait for the prosecution of those implicated plus a public apology,” said Ndawula.

Earlier as the pictures of the torture and humiliation of Sansa made rounds on social media, the Kingdom lawyers issued a letter threatening to sue the IGP. Muwema and Company Advocates gave Kayihura three days to apologize of face legal action.
The Kamuswaga was tortured by Ssekandi’s guards for allegedly trying to overtake the Vice President’s convoy. Ssekandi was at the time heading for one of his campaign rallies while the Kamuswaga headed to Masaka from his Kooki palace.
The Kingdom has vehemently denied allegations that at the time of the scuffle the Kamuswaga was drunk. “We can prove from medical records that the Kamuswaga doesn’t drink and he wasn’t drunk therefore,” said Stanley Ndawula also the Kingdom’s official spokesman.
